Ramiro Galvez
Summary
Driven engineer who loves building, startups, and hard problems. I work well under pressure, shaped by years competing for Chile's national basketball team. 4+ years in fintech across backend, frontend, and infrastructure, both as a hands-on engineer and as a leader. Today I build AI agents and the harnesses that let a whole team ship with them. Outside work I live in the startup world through books and X, and I stay close to the edge of AI. I own problems end to end.
Experience
Senior Software Engineer, PruffMar 2026 – Present
Multi-tenant B2B fintech platform (30+ tenant databases) · Node.js, TypeScript, Prisma, MySQL, React, AWS
AI agents & MCP
- Built Pruff's AI platform from scratch: in-product agents and a customer-facing collections agent with guardrails, evals, and tracing.
- Shipped an OAuth-secured remote MCP server end to end, so customers query their own portfolio data directly from Claude.
Agentic engineering & org
- Built and own the team's AI harness (skills, subagents, hooks): team throughput doubled, and I shipped 700+ issues in four months.
- Brought in Buzz (by Block) and designed our seven-agent team: errors and client requests flow to agents that investigate, open PRs, and request human review, with 140+ PRs merged in two months. An investigator agent diagnoses issues with our internal tools, so anyone, including the commercial team, can find a root cause.
- Shaped engineering into stream-aligned and platform teams (Team Topologies), and mentor the team on building with agents.
Platform & product
- Stabilized the database and serving layers across 30+ tenant DBs, cutting p95 latency from 8.8s to 0.1s. Unit infra cost fell 64% as traffic grew 2.6x.
- Rebuilt CI/CD for safe, fast deploys: automated migrations, releases, and rollbacks, plus team alerting and coordination channels.
- Shipped full-stack products end to end, including a Leasing product and a campaigns platform.
Engineering Manager, RacionalJul 2025 – Mar 2026
Investing/fintech startup · GCP, NestJS, React Native, Angular · Senior-most technical leader during a leadership vacuum
- Led the Platform, Money, and Investing squads with a Team Topologies-aligned structure; hired key talent; held direction and delivery on track after the CTO, tech lead, and senior engineers left within one month.
- Led the launch of Racional 2.0 (beta), a full re-architecture adding US stocks and ETFs, and the first Money app prototype; reduced peak-event DB latency and rebuilt FX flows.
Software Engineer → Investing Squad Lead, RacionalJan 2023 – Jul 2025
Promoted twice in 2.5 years; led the Stocks & Portfolios roadmap
Software Engineer, Buk ChileMar 2022 – Dec 2022
Full-stack features in Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL
Projects
- CourtFlow: native Swift iOS app for basketball coaches, in TestFlight beta, solving a problem I know first-hand as a player. Its core is a play-design canvas, and I build it agent-first, driving specs, PRs, and reviews from my phone.
- WITNESS: bilingual voice-agent interview coach with an LLM evaluator that scores each session (Expo, Whisper, ElevenLabs).
Skills
Agentic workflows: team AI harnesses (skills, subagents, hooks, rules), agentic ops (incident triage, CI, releases, investigator agents), MCP servers with OAuth, guardrails and evals, Claude Code, Anthropic SDK
Stack: TypeScript and Node.js, React, Swift, PostgreSQL and MySQL, AWS and GCP, Terraform
How I work: Claude Code all day, in the terminal and from my phone, via the t3 app connected to an always-on Mac over Tailscale; Wispr Flow for dictating specs and prompts; a personal software factory of reusable skills, subagents, and templates that I run across projects
Education
Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile2015 – 2022
Ingeniería Civil Industrial, Diploma in CS; B.Sc. in Engineering
Beyond work
Former Chile national-team basketball player; national league since 16. Reader of Naval, Dostoevsky, Jung, and Michael Singer. I see coding as creative expression and AI as a multiplier for human potential.
